Palmarito Beach Tierra Bomba is a socially responsible company committed to sustainable tourism practices with local communities and the city of Cartagena.
We comply with all legal requirements in Colombia to offer quality services to tourists, travelers, and the broader community.
This includes the creation of safe spaces for local and visiting children and adolescents—spaces where they are protected from any form of violence.
Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (CSEC) violates fundamental rights, dignity, integrity, and sexual development.
It involves sexual abuse by an adult in exchange for money or goods, either for the minor or for a third party.
CSEC is a criminal offense in Colombia, addressed through an extensive legal and policy framework ranging from the Constitution and the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child to current national and territorial policies.
Colombian criminal law establishes penalties of 14 to 25 years for anyone who solicits, exploits, or abuses a minor.
Sexual exploitation can occur in business environments, as industries such as travel and tourism may be abused by traffickers or exploiters.
Additionally, human trafficking for sexual exploitation may occur not only transnationally but also within cities, neighborhoods, and communities.
At Palmarito Beach Tierra Bomba, we firmly reject and do not promote any activity involving children or adolescents as objects of commercial or sexual exploitation.
We uphold the law and the following regulations:
• Law 1098 of 2006 – Childhood and Adolescence Code
• Law 1329 of 2009 – Amends Law 599/2000 to counter sexual exploitation of minors
• Law 1336 of 2009 – Strengthens Law 679 of 2001 against exploitation, pornography, and sex tourism involving minors
• Resolution 3840 of 2009 – Requires tourism service providers to adopt a Code of Conduct to prevent sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism
We commit to preventing commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking involving minors in all forms.
Our team remains vigilant to any suspicious situation that may compromise our integrity as a company or put minors at risk.
